Lisa and Dave married at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield. Which is one of the area's fine theatres. When the Winding Wheel isn't entertaining guest with musicals and comedies, you will find that it makes a fantastic wedding venue for an all day wedding. As you'll see in the images below, the Bride and Groom chose Cadbury purple as their colour scheme for what turned out to be a very hot summer wedding full of laughter. Family and friends traveled from as far as Holland for this July ceremony and you could feel the love surrounding the couple as more and more guest arrived. To see some photos of Lisa and Dave's big day take a peek below. Or click "read more" if you don't see them already.
This Bride and Groom from Shirebrook, Mansfield tied the knot this past August surrounded by their closest friends and family. Carla chose to get ready with her Bridesmaids at her sister's and Auntie's. Then left for Holy Trinity Parish Church in a vintage car from Balmoral Vintage Wedding Cars. Ronnie waited patiently at the church for his Bride to walk down the aisle with her bridal party adorned in coral. The ceremony ended with all smiles and a little bit of rain. But not enough to stop this wedding photographer. We snapped a few family photos and ventured off for some romantic photos of the Bride and Groom before heading to the Shirebrook Miners Welfare decorated by Classy Creations. I had a blast with Carla and Ronnie and it was my pleasure to be their wedding photographer. View my favourites from their big day here.
Georgina and Dan chose to say their vows at their family church of St. Wilfred's at Kirkby-in-Ashfield. What was predicted to be a day of rain, turned out to only be a bit grey. Which was perfect for capturing some dramatic clouds as the backdrop for some photos later seen below at the John Fretwell Sporting Complex in Mansfield. Speaking of their venue, it was elegantly decorated in the Bride and Groom's wedding theme of coral and blue by Memorable Events. But not before being driven in style by the kind drivers of Marlows Wedding Car Hire. So go take a peek at some of my favourite wedding photos of the day.
Claire and David married at the famous Chatsworth House on a beautiful Saturday in May. Although the day showed it's fair share of rain, we still managed to snap some scenic wedding photos in Chatsworth's well known garden. The decor was elegantly arranged by Love In A Mist Creative Venue Styling. During the evening reception the newlyweds danced with their guest to the music of Blue Flame Disco. Beautiful Risley Hall in Derybshire was the perfect setting for Maida and David to get married on the 25th of May 2014. The Bride arrived in a champagne coloured Jaguar alongside her father while David waited patiently in the Baronial Hall with their wedding guest. The wedding breakfast included heartfelt speeches that brought tears and laughter. Followed by the evening reception amongst their many Bridesmaids, Best Men, Groomsmen and of course, plenty of friends and family. I must admit that I had the hardest time narrowing down all of Chris and Sarah's wedding photos down to a small amount that I could fit here. I love them all. We had a blast taking them. The Bride started her day off at the Clumber Park Hotel and Spa getting ready with her Mum and Bridesmaids. Two of which are hair stylist like the Bride herself. How's that for perfect right?! The gorgeous flowers seen below were designed by Tineke Floral Designs Limited and the ceremony took place at the Old Parsonage in Clumber Park. Followed by the wedding breakfast and evening reception where the Groom strolled along the water with his Groomsmen. Of course, every good reception ends with dancing. So before you grab your dancing shoes, take a peek at some of my favourite images from this stylish summer wedding in Nottinghamshire. (If you don't see the images directly below, click "read more")
The Bentley Brook Inn at Ashbourne was a beautiful setting for this quaint wedding ceremony. Mike and Hannah couldn't have picked a better day to say their vows and share the occassion with only close family and friends. They stayed true to themselves choosing to play instrumental pieces by Metallica and parts of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack as background music before the ceremony. Along with a fantastic and very untraditional cake topper that you'll see featured in the photos below. It is definitely one of my favorites.

I love spring time weddings and this one especially. The Bride started the day off at Bronte Hair in Eastwood and finished getting ready in the comfort of her own home. Danny and Mimi had not only a Christian wedding ceremony at St. Mary's Church in Greaseley, but also a Buddhist blessing upon their arrival at Eastwood Hall. Which is where they enjoyed a wedding breakfast and evening reception with their guest.

Kayleigh and Antony joined hands in marriage on a rainy Valentine's Day at historic Alfreton Hall in Derbyshire. The Bride's dress is from the Wedding Factory Outlet. Hair by mobile stylist Holly and the Bride's make up artist was Maxine Holland who can be found on facebook. Friends of the Bride and Groom, Andrew and Tara crafted the beautiful wedding cake seen below. While you're peeking at the wedding photos below, check out the Best Man's mustache. You can admire it in person at his tattoo studio, The New Tattoo82 in South Normanton.

This lovely January wedding took place at the Bakewell Registry Office in Derbyshire. For a winter wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher couldn't have picked a better day. The sun was shining through the windows as they said their vows and gathered for a few photos in the gardens nearby. The Best Man even brought some Bakewell Tarts for a few photos which was quite fitting considering the location. It was an absolute honour to be their wedding photographer and an even bigger honour to photograph their newborn son just the other day. Happily Ever Afters really do exist. If you'd like to see proof, just head over to our newborn photography page. The littlest Fletcher is the handsome guy wearing a duckie hat.

Emma and Ashley chose to exchange rings at the Chesterfield Registry Office in Derbyshire.
They said their vows amongst family and friends along with their two gorgeous children on a beautiful September day. Ashley, a local business owner (AJ Painters) wore a tie in powder blue matching Emma's bouquet seen below. As always, it was an honour to be chosen as their Wedding Photographer. May they have many more happy memories for years to come.

Lorraine and Chris traveled from Staffordshire to marry in a family church where Lorraine's mother got married. Dethick Church is set in the middle of a farm just outside of Matlock, Derbyshire. It was the perfect setting on a sunny September day for their quaint wedding with only their closest of friends and family who gathered from out of the area. After the ceremony, the lovely couple posed with their guest just outside of the church overlooking Derbyshire for some group photos. Then Lorraine and Chris toasted their guest with champagne before their departure in a vintage car to enjoy a meal and drinks. As their wedding photographer I would like to say, congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Blackwell. Thank you for allowing JP Professional Photography to photograph your special day.

Congratulations to Kayleigh and Nathaniel who got married in the beautiful High Peak. Kayleigh and her bridesmaids started their day at Guild Hair and Beauty Ltd before heading to her childhood church in Whaley Bridge for the ceremony. The Wedding Breakfast and Reception were held at The Palace Hotel in Buxton. But not before stopping off for a few portraits in the Derbyshire Peaks. Even with the grey English skies, the setting was perfect for a bit of romance. Thank you for choosing JP Professional Photography as your Wedding Photographer. We were honoured to have shared your big day.
I am so happy to share some photographs of Mark and Von's Wedding day. They decided to hire JP Professional Photography as their Wedding Photographer by recommendation of their Sister-in-law, Lisa. Who is one of JP's portrait clients.
Newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Harrison were married on a beautiful sunny day in July at Von's family church in Blackwell, Derbyshire. Followed by a Wedding Breakfast at the Blackwell Miners Welfare where the Evening Reception was also held amongst their closest friends and family.
Congratulations Mark and Von!! I enjoyed being your chosen Wedding Photographer and couldn't imagine a happier couple.
By recommendation of the Groom's sister, Nick and Amy decided to hire JP Professional Photography as their Wedding Photographer. Lumb Farm Country Club in the Ripley area of Derbyshire provided the perfect setting for this June wedding. The Bride arrived by Horse and Carriage with her Bridal Party decked out in cadbury purple, lilac and ivory. It was a beautiful day enjoyed by friends, family, a few happy tears and plenty of laughs along the way. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Dickinson. It was a pleasure to be your Wedding Photographer.
This will be the first of many future blog post related to my business JP Professional Photography. After deciding to venture onto this journey, I thought it was best to let my readers and clients know why I am a wedding, event and portrait photographer.
First and foremost, it is about the people. Especially when it comes to sharing the moments that my clients will cherish forever. Weddings, christenings, birthdays, family reunions. The list can go on forever. As a wedding photographer I have the privilege of seeing the pride a father has walking his daughter down the aisle, the groom with tears in his eyes as the couple is pronounced husband and wife, and the bride nervous with excitement as the church doors open. These are the moments that happen only once in a lifetime and I'm the lucky wedding photographer that gets the pleasure of capturing it on camera to be admired time and time again. There are no second chances to snap photographs like that. This is the part where I admit to all of you that I thrive off of this kind of pressure. Each wedded couple puts their trust in me as their wedding photographer to catch the moments they will show their children and grandchildren for years to come. Who wouldn't love a job where clients have that much faith in you.
So why am I also a portrait photographer? One of many reasons is I love to see children laugh and catch them looking off in the distance with innocent little eyes. I enjoy capturing the look of a baby wrapped up in a mother's cuddle and a father's love when he holds a newborn's head in his strong hands. As a portrait photographer I am blessed with the ability to witness grandparents sit proudly surrounded by the family they created. Photographing portraits of 4 or 5 generations in one shot to be hung above the mantle place when a new addition is added to the family. Then there are the portrait sittings with children whose parents swear will be difficult to photograph. I enjoy the challenge. Again, there is that component of pressure to capture the rare moment a child is smiling and looking in the direction of the camera at the same time. Or those five seconds when they are giggling from something silly. It is all about patience and waiting for the right moment. And I get to be the photographer who captured it!
There is so much more I could say here about why I am a full time photographer. For now I will leave you with this…it's about sharing a piece of history, a family's story, a moment in time that you can't get back. You get the picture.
